In this photo Maryna Linchuk looks like a young but very classy, and sophisticated woman. She is advertising a perfume called ‘Miss Dior Cherie’. I think that this advert is meant to bring out the natural beauty of the product, to show that the perfume has a light fresh scent because of the flowers surrounding her and the garden setting in the background.
In this picture she is promoting a feminine lifestyle. You can see this because she has got different shades of pink in the advert, which is a colour that is dominated by women. Maryna is staring straight into the camera, towards the audience showing a direct mode of address. The image seems to be cropped because you cannot see the full size of her body or it could possibly be the way the camera has been positioned.
The lighting is natural rather than artificial to coordinate with the whole outdoors aspect of the image. Her face and skin look smooth witch suggests that the image has been retouched/airbrushed. The perfume is being branded as a fun, youthful fragrant and by adopting a childish hands-on-hips posture she’s showing that.
Wow: Lauraine, you write very well and clearly, presenting a good analysis of this advert and how it has been constructed to create meaning.
ReplyDeleteNow: Write in more detail about what we as the audience can read in the advert, what is is trying to sell us?
How: Include references to which aspects of Maslow's hierarchy of needs this advert fulfils.
